Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 211 - 04-27-13 - Never Tell Me The Odds

People are shooting themselves with harpoons, fighting baboons, and calling cops on copulating kittens. It's a crazy world we live in, and Craig, Face, and The Whale tried to make sense of it by discussing the greatest piece of surveillance video ever recorded and counting down the Magnificent Seven Jobs We'd Never Want To Do, amongst other discussions. The musical recommendation this week was "Where Has Sally Gone?" by Caroline Smith and the Good Night Sleeps.

If you're going to retire, this is the way to do it.

Former NFL linebacker signed a one day contract this week in order to allow him to retire as a New Orleans Saint. Always a cool move, but to sign the paperwork IN Machu Picchu...that's living right.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 210 - 04-20-13 - Backpage Press Confidential

With the Nuggets set to open the playoffs at the usual start time of Vertically Striped Radio, Craig reached out to Cory from BackpagePress.com to share about his store and his story. What follows is an intimate and brave discussion about the limits of trying to live life without help. Far from our usual fare on VSR, but a this is a tremendous and real offering from our pal Cory.

We wrap up with a new show tradition of our VSR style James Lipton questions with Cory, and to honor the strength of the people of Boston, we play a Red Sox tradition with a Waylon Jennings twist as our musical recommendation of the week.

Vertically Striped Radio - Episode 209 - 04-13-13 - Blatant Black Guy

The Avalanche won a game in the final ten seconds, and that oddity bled into the entire episode of VSR. We had Killer Beavers, Cookie Monster attacks, and Zombie Hallucinations causing freeway pileups...and that was just the news.

Craig and Face then discussed items including Roger Ebert's passing, the Zero TV Generation, the sadness of an Applebees on a Tuesday afternoon, potato chips, and the oddness of mailing a goat's head to the Cubs organization.

Episode 209 wrapped up with a music recommendation from Cloud Cult of "The Show Starts Now" which was a lovely and ironic way to end the show.
